CEO and Co-Founder of Space Ape
Previously head of Product at Playfish and a Studio GM at Electronic Arts. John is a games industry veteran; he was the producer of three of the most successful games on Facebook totalling more than 20M DAU (including The Sims Social, Restaurant City, and Pet Society). Before that he was at Playstation, The Boston Consulting Group, and the US Navy. Once upon a time John chased smugglers on the high seas in the Middle East.
COO, CFO, C-everything else, and Co-Founder of Space Ape
He has over a decade of product and commercial experience in high growth web businesses. He was responsible for monetization at Skype in its formative years and more recently the backend platform for Electronic Arts’ Facebook gaming business. Before that he was an attorney in Australia, Singapore and London. Simon is from Australia.
Principal at Accel Partners
Michael joined Accel in 2013, after close to a decade of finance and investment experience in the technology sector. Prior to Accel, Michael spent five years as part of Warburg Pincus’ technology investment team in New York and San Francisco, focusing on enterprise, internet and information companies. Originally from Russia, he lived for 10 years in Berlin and is fluent in German. Michael holds a BA in Economics and Philosophy from Yale University and an MBA from Stanford University.
General Partner at Northzone
Jeppe Zink is a general partner with Northzone and has been part of the London investment scene since the late 1990s and invested in over 20 startups and growth companies over the last 14 years. He was previously a partner at Amadeus Capital and before that, with Deutsche Bank’s principal investment group. Current investments include Sticky.ad, E-Prospects and Tobii. Jeppe is a Dane.
Partner at Inital Capital
Prior to Initial Capital, Sami was co-founder and CTO of Playfish, a leader in social games which was acquired by Electronic Arts in 2009. Earlier in his career Sami was co-founder and CTO of Macrospace which merged with Sorrent in 2004 to become Glu Mobile, a global publisher of mobile games. Previously, Sami held key roles at Digital Mobility and Lehman Brothers. Sami holds a bachelor’s of science in Computer Sciences from Imperial College London.
Gigi is an angel investor in a variety of start-ups in Israel, London and the US, in the fields of Internet, Software, Gaming and Telecom. Gigi has invested in over 40 companies including Kenshoo, Playtika, SweetIM, Plarium, Eyeview Digital, SpeakingPal, Lovelive.tv, Audish, Ekoloko, NanoRep and more.
CTO and Co-Founder of Space Ape
Toby Moore is CTO and Co-Founder of Space Ape, which means he spends most of his time turning things off and back on again. His passion for turning things off and back on started with the BBC Micro, which led him on a path of turning progressively bigger things off and back on through most of the 00’s. Most recently Toby was the CTO at Mind Candy, where his team turned Moshi Monsters off and back on for 6 years serving over 75 million users. Toby is from the UK.
Sitar Teli is a venture capitalist with over seven years of experience in early-stage investments and portfolio management, having previously been an investment manager at Doughty Hanson Technology Ventures. Sitar focuses on product-led consumer internet and mobile sector, portfolio companies include SoundCloud, MegaZebra and Handmade Mobile. Prior to Doughty Hanson, Sitar was a banker focusing on technology mergers and acquisitions with Jefferies (Broadview). Sitar has a dual degree in Mechanical Engineering and Economics from Duke University.
